Bolsover Castle

In the final week of September, we went to Bolsover Castle. We decided to book a cab as we had just landed at the airport. When we came outside the terminal, the driver was already present there. He was a nice person and a professional driver. His car was also very neat and in a good condition. The ride was good. Thanks to company for making our journey special and peaceful.
As we approached Bolsover, we came across this amazing castle. At first glance, it appears to be a castle, but as you get closer, you realise that it is more of a palace, a Stuart one at that, that has been abandoned and become stuck in time.
We were familiar with what to anticipate from English Heritage when faced with an actual ruin because we had been to many magnificent ruins under their management. The situation in Bolsover, however, took a slight turn for the interesting because neither the riding house nor the tiny Bolsover Castle can be regarded as authentic ruins. Consequently, we were interested to see how Heritage would handle them. No guided tour was available, ruin or no ruin ( which is something you come to expect from the Heritage).
Bolsover Castle is a somewhat large property that the Heritage manages, in contrast to many other ones, and they have succeeded in making the grounds a friendly location for everyone. A bowling green and a great climbing frame are located close to the entrance. We also discovered some straightforward historical games close to the stables, which kept my kids occupied for more than an hour and a half. It's wonderful to see that youngsters can still enjoy basic activities without the need for devices today!
The castle's unruined riding house has been converted into a lovely exhibition space that tells the story of its most famous lord, William Cavendish ( there is little mention of his second wife, Margaret Lucas, which I felt was a shame). The short film that was shown in the stable didn't particularly appeal to me. Strange sound and visual combinations, including sentences we had already seen in the exhibition, were present. Something like this is certainly something I would expect to see at a contemporary art gallery rather than a mediaeval castle.
The destroyed palace where King Charles I resided during his illustrious visit in 1634 is among the castle's other structures. The little Bolsover Castle, also known as the little Bolsover Castle, which we found to be utterly interesting, was formerly the smallest portion of the castle and was one of the most significant private castles in England during the Stuart era. We also came to understand that the entire location was intended for entertainment rather than conflict thanks to the walled garden, which was in full bloom when we visited.
In conclusion, Bolsover Castle provides a unique chance to witness the opulent way of life and architectural style of the early 17th century. You may spend several hours touring the location because English Heritage has managed to make it a family-friendly property, and its new audio digital guides make that possible. This is, in my opinion, one of the nicest Heritage sites I have ever visited.
